Why Year-Round Matters Here

Northern California pests don't
take winter off. Neither do we.

Unlike colder climates where a single annual treatment is often sufficient, Northern California's mild winters mean pest activity continues year-round β€” just with different species active in different seasons. A one-time treatment addresses today's problem. A seasonal plan prevents the next four.

Parker Pest Pro seasonal pest control treatment across Northern California

The most common pest control mistake in Northern California is treating reactively β€” calling when there's an infestation visible, eliminating it, and then waiting until the next one appears. By the time you see a problem, it's been established for weeks. Proactive seasonal treatment interrupts pest cycles before infestations develop.

🌑️

Mild Winters Keep Pests Active

Northern California rarely gets cold enough to kill off pest populations outdoors. Ants are active year-round. Cockroaches never slow down in heated structures. Black widows remain active in garages and sub-floor areas through winter. A seasonal plan maintains protection through the full year β€” not just the warm months.

πŸ”„

Barriers Must Be Refreshed

Exterior barrier treatments last 30–90 days β€” not the full year. A single annual treatment leaves your home unprotected for 9 months. Quarterly visits time each treatment to seasonal pest transitions, ensuring the barrier is refreshed before each new wave of pest activity begins.

πŸ’°

Prevention Costs Less Than Reaction

A Recurring Service Plan Cost costs significantly less per visit than individual one-time services. More importantly, preventing an Argentine ant supercolony from establishing, or stopping rodents before they enter your sub-floor area in fall, costs far less than the remediation required after an established infestation causes structural damage or health issues.

Your Year-Round Protection Calendar

What we treat. When we treat it.
Why the timing matters.

Each quarterly visit is timed to Northern California's specific pest activity cycles β€” targeting species at the moment they are most vulnerable to treatment and most likely to invade your home if a barrier is not in place.

🌸 Spring March · April · May Active Season

The most important visit of the year β€” barrier placement before peak activity begins is far more effective than treating after populations have peaked.

🐜 Ants

Colonies expand from winter β€” spring is peak invasion season for kitchens and bathrooms

πŸ•·οΈ Spiders

Black widow egg sacs hatch β€” new generation establishes in garages and sheds

🐝 Wasps & Bees

Queen wasps begin new nests β€” treat when small for easiest, safest removal

πŸͺ² Earwigs

Emerge from soil as temperatures rise β€” begin entering homes from garden borders

🦟 Flying Insects

Season begins β€” larvicide treatment of standing water before first generation

πŸ› Silverfish

Active in attics and wall voids β€” spring inspection of upper structure areas

πŸ’‘
Spring Priority

Exterior barrier application before ants and spiders reach peak activity is the highest-value pest control investment of the year. Treating a colony of 10,000 ants in March prevents treating a supercolony of 10 million in August. We apply fresh barrier treatment to the full perimeter, spot-treat any winter nesting activity, and advise on spring habitat modifications.

β˜€οΈ Summer June Β· July Β· August Peak Season

Maximum pest pressure across all species β€” the quarterly visit refreshes the spring barrier and adds targeted treatment for summer-specific pests.

πŸͺ³ Cockroaches

Cockroach activity increases in heat β€” including the Turkestan cockroach, which thrives in NorCal's warm summers and invades from outdoor harborage

🐜 Ants

Seek moisture indoors during dry heat β€” kitchen and bathroom invasions peak

🐝 Yellow Jackets

Yellow jackets become aggressive β€” colonies reach full size and defend food sources near outdoor dining areas

🦟 Gnats & Flies

Fruit flies and fungus gnats peak in summer kitchens and overripe produce

🦟 Fleas

Peak flea pressure β€” outdoor pets continuously re-exposed, yards treated

πŸ’‘
Summer Priority

The summer visit refreshes the exterior barrier β€” critical because summer heat and UV exposure accelerates breakdown of residual treatments. We add targeted interior gel bait for cockroach management, treat any identified ant harborage, inspect for wasp nest development, and treat outdoor flea and flying insect pressure around pets and outdoor living areas.

πŸ‚ Fall Sept Β· Oct Β· November Critical Season

The most important visit for rodent prevention β€” fall is when rats, mice, and spiders move indoors en masse. Act before they establish.

πŸ€ Rodents

PEAK entry season β€” temperature drop triggers mass movement indoors via sub-floor areas and gaps

πŸ•·οΈ Spiders

Wolf spiders and black widows move indoors β€” most indoor spider complaints occur now

πŸ¦— Crickets

Field crickets seek warmth β€” large numbers enter through gaps as outdoor populations die

🐜 Ants

Seek indoor warmth ahead of cool nights β€” kitchen invasions spike in October

πŸͺ² Boxelder Bugs

Seek warm surfaces and sunny exterior walls as temperatures drop β€” can enter in large numbers through gaps and vents

πŸ’‘
Fall Priority

The fall visit is our most comprehensive of the year. We inspect and treat sub-floor area and garage perimeters for rodent entry points, set monitoring stations, treat for spiders with full web removal, refresh the exterior barrier before winter, and perform a full inspection of all Treatment points identified in previous visits. This is the visit that prevents the most expensive pest problems β€” sub-floor area rodent damage and structural spider infestations.

❄️ Winter Dec Β· Jan Β· February Prevention Focus

Northern California winters keep pests active indoors β€” rodents breed in sub-floor areas, cockroaches continue indoors. Winter is for monitoring and prevention.

πŸ€ Rodents

Established indoors β€” monitoring stations checked, active Treatment reinforced

πŸͺ³ Cockroaches

Never slow down in heated structures β€” bait refresh and harborage inspection

πŸ› Silverfish

Active year-round in wall voids and attics β€” inspection and void treatment

πŸ•·οΈ Spiders

Crawl space egg sacs developing β€” winter is ideal time for sub-floor area treatment

🐜 Ants

Ants active year-round in NorCal β€” never fully dormant, continue bait management

πŸ’‘
Winter Priority

The winter visit focuses on monitoring what's established indoors, Treatment work to seal entry points identified in fall, and planning for spring. We check rodent monitoring stations, refresh cockroach and silverfish treatments, inspect sub-floor areas for evidence of overwintering pests, and perform Treatment sealing work that is most effectively done in winter before spring emergence creates pressure from outside.

Plan Coverage

Full web and egg sac removal, harborage zone treatment, and perimeter barrier. Black widow treatment in garages, sheds, and sub-floor areas β€” the highest-priority spider service in Lake County.

πŸ€

Rodents β€” Rats & Mice

Fall Treatment inspection and entry point sealing, monitoring station placement and quarterly checks, removal of any activity found between visits.

How It Works

One phone call. Four visits
a year. Continuous protection.

Our seasonal management plan is designed to be effortless for you. We schedule, we remind, we show up β€” and if anything appears between visits, we return at no additional charge.

1

Initial Assessment Visit

A licensed technician conducts a full property assessment β€” identifying existing pest activity, entry points, harborage zones, and seasonal risk factors specific to your property. This becomes the baseline for your seasonal plan.

2

Quarterly Scheduled Visits

Four visits per year timed to seasonal pest transitions β€” spring, summer, fall, and winter. Each visit targets what's active in that season with the appropriate treatment approach and product selection for that pest cycle.

3

Between-Visit Guarantee

If pest activity appears between your scheduled visits, call us. We return within 48 hours and treat the issue at no additional charge. Your plan includes unlimited between-visit callbacks for covered pests throughout the year.

4

Annual Property Review

Each year's winter visit includes an annual property review β€” assessing what worked, what changed, and adjusting your plan for the coming year. Your protection evolves with your property as conditions and pest pressures shift.

Choose Your Approach

Seasonal plan vs one-time treatment.
Which is right for you?

Both options are available β€” the right choice depends on your situation. Here's an honest comparison to help you decide.

These records are valuable for property sales, insurance purposes, and for tracking patterns in pest activity across seasons on your specific property.

🌿

Eco-Friendly by Default

IPM principles govern every seasonal visit β€” minimum effective product quantity, targeted application to harborage zones and entry points, and habitat modification advice that reduces pest pressure without chemical dependence. Safe for children, pets, and Northern California's watershed-sensitive environments year-round.

Best Value in Pest Control

Plan members pay significantly less per visit than one-time service customers β€” and receive far more comprehensive coverage. When you factor in unlimited between-visit callbacks, the cost advantage compounds further. The plan prevents the expensive emergency calls, structural damage, and remediation costs that reactive pest control consistently produces.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "We signed up for the seasonal plan after our third consecutive summer ant infestation. Parker treated in spring before they appeared, again in summer, and we had zero ant issues all season. That's never happened in 8 years of living here. The proactive approach is completely different from calling after the problem starts." Michelle T. Windsor, CA · Google Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "The fall visit saved us from a serious rodent problem. The technician found two entry points under the garage sill plate that we never would have noticed, sealed them, and set monitoring stations. No rodents that winter for the first time in three years. The fall visit alone is worth the whole plan." Jim & Carol B. Lakeport, CA · Google Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Between-visit service is real and they actually use it. We had earwigs appearing in October between our fall and winter visits. Called Parker and a technician was there quickly, treated the exterior, found a gap under a door we hadn't noticed. No earwigs since. That callback made the plan worth every penny." Patricia N. Questions & Answers

Everything you want to know
about our seasonal protection plan.

What pests are covered by the seasonal plan?

The plan covers all common household pests in Northern California β€” ants (all species), spiders (including black widows), cockroaches, earwigs, silverfish, crickets, beetles, centipedes, millipedes, gnats, and stored product pests. Rodent monitoring and Treatment are included in fall and winter visits. Fleas, flying insects, and wasps are addressed seasonally. Bed bugs and termites require separate specialist services.

How does the between-visit guarantee work?

If any covered pest appears between your scheduled quarterly visits, call us. We schedule a return visit within 48 hours and treat the issue at no additional charge. There is no limit on between-visit callbacks during your plan year. This applies to all covered pest types β€” not just the species treated at your last scheduled visit.

Can I start the plan at any time of year?

Yes β€” we accept plan enrolments year-round. Your first visit is a comprehensive initial assessment that establishes a baseline and addresses any existing pest activity. Visits are then scheduled quarterly from your enrolment date, adjusted to align with the natural seasonal transitions. If you enrol in summer, your visits will be scheduled for summer, fall, winter, and spring β€” in that order.

Do I need to be home for every quarterly visit?

For exterior-only treatment visits β€” perimeter barrier, eave treatment, and garden area treatment β€” you do not need to be home. We can access exterior areas and leave a service report. For visits that include interior inspection or treatment (particularly fall and winter visits that include sub-floor area and interior assessment), we prefer someone to be available. We work around your schedule and give advance notice for all quarterly visits.

Is the seasonal plan better value than individual service calls?

Yes β€” significantly. Plan members pay less per visit than one-time customers, and between-visit callbacks are included at no additional cost. When you factor in the value of those callbacks, the plan typically pays for itself the first time you call between visits. More importantly, the proactive approach prevents the high-cost emergency services and remediation costs that reactive pest control produces over time.

What's the most important visit of the year?

The spring and fall visits are typically the highest-value. The spring visit places the exterior barrier before Ants and spiders peak β€” preventing infestations that are far more expensive to treat at their height. The fall visit addresses rodent Treatment before the mass indoor migration begins β€” the single most impactful step for preventing sub-floor area rodent damage, which is Northern California's most costly residential pest problem.

Does the plan cover bed bugs or termites?

Bed bugs and termites are specialist services requiring dedicated treatment protocols and are not included in the general seasonal management plan. If bed bugs or termites are identified during a seasonal visit, we advise immediately and schedule a separate specialist service. Both are available as standalone services β€” see our bed bug removal page for details.

How are the seasonal plan products different from what I can buy at a hardware store?

Professional-grade products used in our plan have significantly higher active ingredient concentrations, longer residual effectiveness (30–90 days versus 7–14 days for consumer products), and formulations designed for specific harborage application rather than surface spraying. We also rotate chemical classes across visits to prevent resistance development β€” a critical factor for cockroaches and ants in particular that consumer product users cannot replicate with retail products.
